Tire Factory/Point S has an immediate opening for a Warehouse/Backup Driver Associate at our Distribution Center in Memphis, TN. This position will also fill in for our delivery drivers when needed. This is a full-time non-exempt position. Starting pay is $18.50 per hour with benefits after a waiting period. You will be eligible for a $500 hiring bonus. After 90 days you will have an opportunity to earn an additional $200 per month incentive bonus.

Primary Job Functions:

  • Unload incoming deliveries: verify correct product, count, and condition, noting and reporting all discrepancies.
  • Use a forklift, scan gun, computer, and proper handling procedures to safely store or pull inventory in an organized and efficient manner. Take precautions to avoid inaccuracies or damage to product or equipment, whether storing or shipping product.
  • Pull and verify accurate and timely shipment of all third-party orders (special orders).
  • Check in and load outgoing shipments, verifying the damage-free condition of product, and confirming that the correct documentation is included with each load.
  • Adhere to all safety rules and precautions, including wearing a safety harness, using horn while operating forklift, etc.
  • Clean the warehouse for the purpose of maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
  • Fill in for delivery drivers as needed.
  • Drive in accordance with the Highway Code regulations, and take responsibility for the vehicle, including security, and the completion of paperwork to provide a safe and efficient service.
  • Deliver all orders in a timely manner and in full. Record any delivery exceptions.
  • Provide top-notch customer service, remembering that as a warehouse associate and delivery driver you are the last face a customer sees and is a direct reflection of Tire Factory Distribution.
  • Communicate and work effectively with other members of the staff and team.
  • Any other tasks assigned by management.




Qualifications:

  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.


  • Maintain a clean driving record on and off the job. Report any violations.


  • Able to pass background check and drug screen.


  • Lift up to 70 Lbs repeatedly on a regular basis.


  • Forklift experience is a plus.


  • Computer knowledge is a plus.


  • Must be dependable and a team player


  • Strong attention to detail


Preferred Skills:

  • Accurately review records of defective or damaged merchandise for proper completion of claims.
  • Accurately and promptly process incoming and outgoing stock orders, and customer returns to sustain a consistent workflow.
  • Maintain the ability to handle job stress and effective interaction with others in the workplace.
  • Knowledge and competency in the utilization of warehouse related computer and bar-coding equipment.
Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to sit, stand, bend, reach, talk, hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, use hands and fingers, handle or operate objects, tools, or controls, and move about facilities.
  • Required to operate equipment.
  • Lift / carry by hand, freight weighing up to 70 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Push/pull products of excessive weight using mechanical aids, such as hand trucks, puller carts, pallet jacks, etc.
  • Work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Meet or exceed applicable efficiencies standards and expectations.
  • Standing/Driving for long periods of time.
  • Experience with operating heavy machinery and delivery vehicles.
  • Will work in extreme weather conditions (Heat or Cold).

Schedule:

  • Day shift.
  • Monday to Friday with occasional Saturdays as needed.
  • In general, this position is assigned to regular business hours; however, it is typical to work more than 40 hours per week.
  • Maintain regular attendance and timeliness as set forth within the work schedule designated by the distribution center supervisor/manager.
