General Summary
The Sales Associate will assist in the receiving, stocking, pricing of all merchandise and help maintain a clean and orderly merchandise presentation and overall store cleanliness. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Customer Service:
•	Provide a positive representation of Bates Ace Hardware.
•	Proactively assist customers in solving problems.
•	Possess a friendly outgoing demeanor; work well with customers as well as associates.
•	Ensure all warehouse pages and calls are answered promptly, courteously and effectively.
•	Forward any customer complaint that cannot be handled to a member of management.
•	Possess strong product knowledge and knowledge of store layout and location of products.
•	Assist customers with personal, customized service based on the premise of amazing every customer, every time.

Store/Warehouse Operations
•	Assist in creating a positive, professional and safe work environment.
•	Receiving, and checking in of merchandise for the store.
•	Report stock levels of bag goods, pavers, glass, pine straw and wheat straw.
•	Daily maintenance, orderliness and cleanliness of the parking lot, stock room, basement and outdoor bag goods merchandise area.
•	Operate forklift with proper training.
•	Communicate any merchandising, cost control or sales idea to General Manager.
•	Participate in store meetings.
•	Be professional in appearance and actions.
•	Perform all other duties as assigned.

Other Essential Requirements
- Able to receive merchandise shipments twice a week at 3:30am, placing on carts for associates to stock shelves
- Assembly of grills, wheelbarrows, benches and other merchandise
- Able to drive van and box truck
- Valid driver's license, good driving record, nothing on record for past 3 years
- Able to pass a DOT certification physical 

Education/Training
High School or GED equivalent.

Experience
Prior warehouse/receiving experience preferred.

Physical Demands
Standing, walking, lifting (up to 90lbs) and climbing.
